I’ve seen this a lot – Freshly picked from college and eager to prove themselves, to show what they are capable of, new hires role in soaring on a high that cannot be compared to any other. Then, the high shifts to uncertainty, coming to find that being the youngest also means being inexperienced and by default, unknowledgeable. Sure you’ve spent years studying but nothing compares to real-world experience -knowledge that is earned by diving in and working the trenches.
So what happened to that initial sense of power you walked in with? Most likely it is still there, you only lost your focus and confidence in your ability. (more…)
